As always American Socialist Voter is about YOU, the postmodern Socialist and contemporary socialism. Membership here is free and there is no obligation to be a member of another website. There are no dues or fees. No one has to pick a type of ideology as long as it is within the socialist spectrum i.e. democratic socialism, social democracy, Christian socialism, social libertarianism, national socialism or any brand of non-orthodox Marxian limited messages. There are several hundred years of other socialist-like writings and as Socialists we do not restrict our views to the ideologues of the few. We also welcome independent voters looking for new inroads keeping to an open and peaceful works of activism.
A key factor of socialism in action is to further democracy by socialism's institutions, created to teardown the tyranny of majority. To allow plurality and localism.
Socialism is not part of the two party system of democrats or republicans. Socialism has its own left and right wings and any researcher worth their weight should know this basic fact. The far groups would like to deny each other and historically kill each other off while those less in tactical difference i.e. democratic socialists are either split between the DSA or SP-USA and their transposition in name the social democrats are factional parties crossing many of the same practical lines for various reasons. Those artificial divides do not exist at ASV and are never excepted as an excuse. Socialism has had throughout its' long history and many cultures factionalists i.e. Luist v. Maoist with conservative verses radical elements of the Red Guard and Stalin v. Trotsky in dogmatic fights between conservative red fascism verses radical permanent revolution are two more well known academic citations that give socialism a black eye in the world view. Even on the small scale this failure has hurt many good and qualified people willing to work under the general premise of socialism, but poor behavior has in fact thinned the ranks across the board for any organization using the word "socialism." The waving of the red flag only to attack the red flag has to end somewhere. ASV will be an open forum to that end. Don't burn the common red flag which is the basis for all our flags.
There isn't a restriction on who is or is not a socialist. There are restrictions on those claiming socialism is a symbolism of hate, illegal actions, and death worldwide since socialism is actual theory and not action. Most if not all states in the USA have banned certain elements from running for any political office openly due to ideology. This website is for socialist works within legal and peaceful activism from our combined theories.
We strive for real socialistic society through peaceful means i.e. education (binary economics), voting (sociocracy), activism, housing, good health (single payer), protecting the environment (green), open topics, engagement with Representatives, betterment of our communities (communitarianism), and so on. Democrats, Republicans are different sides of the same coin. Most communistic systems having failed at several attempts to force dogma on people have created a malformed socialism doing great harm to the theory. Some fringe elements pretend in their hijacking of the word "socialism" to falsely want the voter to believe they are "true" or "better" when in fact there isn't either which has led to so many extreme elements. ASV hopes to find the center by bringing in the ends for exploration.
This website strives to highlight the full socialist spectrum, left to center and right, outside the two party system because it is neither. To reveal socialism's greatness and short comings as well while calling out those platform planks that we have in common; yet, ideologues who divide a greater mass movement and to give voice to individual voting Socialists in demanding authority for efforts, clarity geared towards unity, and better planning for the movement as a whole and not of the few it has been for the past three decades. To aid in creating the socialist spectrum picture a scale with values associated with it will be made and posted at a later date when ready.
What positive activism and sharing you the Socialist puts into this group you will get out of it. Use it wisely to help yourself create the network no other group has ever had but wishes they did.

Not backing down from education
As many websites come and go, ASV has taken more long term planning goals in mind. There has been some outcry for more information on communist elements that use the term socialism interchangeably with communism and even more controversy over nationalism too using socialism coinciding with its cousin fascism. All that can be said, we are educational in purpose at ASV and with that we will not erase any ideological factions over different party bias. These words are being used in the media and have not been used in their proper context, out of ignorance, which AVS hopes to end in this century. If there is a problem with wanting to learn more than toss out your history books, and find a cave. This is in your face, trial by fire type education. Be there a favoring of one side over the other, ASV does not have a dog in that fight. Have something to share or want to talk openly, then by all means enjoy yourself and be civil human beings.

Many thanks for our given purpose
This website was the influence of four great persons who aggravated and forced many to think. Steve who claims a certain hatefulness of ASV and never wants to talk to "a former comrade" again because his hand was caught in the cook jar and Don who was nice enough to sponsor a list sever for many years and gave socialists of all types an open voice in the wilderness. Marc who is still misguided but hopeful for his revolution that will never come and with his walled up world now listens to the voices (D.C.E.) in his head. Lastly, Micheal out west coast way who with all his problems continues to plug away at helping the everyday working slob just trying to get by. Should we be eternally grateful and angry at them? Use the forum to find out or to talk about them.
Multiple learning styles to vary how we take in subject material
In the near future more pictures will be added that help to explain the written word in detail for those learners more visually aware. Please help with these pictorial ideas by using our forums and singing up for direct email. If you have pictures with concept feel free to explain it out for later posting here at ASV.
Growing pains and more expanding to come
In the past ASV had excluded many other types of socialism or -ism in the general phraseology. The discussion and debate has been heated and is the current hot topic according to the forum adviser tab icon.
The inclusion from social democrats to democratic socialists to expand into national socialism and other communist's theory has torn apart ASV in controversy. The trouble here is the same as it is with Wikipedia and Conservapedia and their respective neutrality issues on comments and edits. ASV in adding the harder left or right of socialism will take time to academically sort out credible source material to help our readers. While any debate rages on the pages will begin to reflect these changes in small ways a little more each day. One page might not agree with another and be changed the next day or week. All this focus of detail will take time and it is asked to please be patient. If there is something out to place don't hesitate to make a posting in the forum.
